Notes
White American cheese from the deli counter is recommended but white American cheese singles like Kraft found in the refrigerated cheese section works just as well. Just unwrap each slice from the plastic wrap and follow the recipe. If you get the cheese from the deli counter you can purchase the slices or just ask them to cut you a pound of cheese and then cut the cheese into cubes before putting them in the pot.

Heavy cream is recommended. It really adds a nice creaminess to the dip. You can substitute half and half or whole milk. If using half and half or whole milk start with only ½ cup instead of 1 cup and add more ¼ cup at a time until desired consistency.
